Naphtali Fields-Forbes

Naphtali theatre director and playwright that works primarily in workshop settings to help students learn improvisation, story-telling, and creating scenes and plays that reflect their lived experiences. Her practice is rooted in methodologies that focus on social justice, collective action, and community-building. Past projects include working with Salvadoran teens to create a retelling of Romeo and Juliet about gang violence, a bilingual play with college students to tell immigration stories, and a rural storytelling project in Washington County, Maine that collected stories from 65 residents between the ages of 8-95.
