Sara Joy Fisher
Sarah is a Teaching Artist specializing in Improvisational Theater. As a multidisciplinary artist, she is passionate about singing, dancing, creating unique characters, capturing inspiration through photography, and writing creatively. A dedicated Disability Access Advocate, she teaches Adaptive Art at the Erie Art Museum, a monthly class designed for adults with disabilities. She finds joy in improvisational discovery and strive to cultivate accessible spaces where participants can shine and embrace creativity.
Her professional studies include elementary and adaptive education (K-12), disability studies, musical theater, voice, dance, musical improv, contact improv, and physical storytelling. She discovered the joy of improv while studying at Circle in the Square Theater School's Musical Theater Workshop in New York City and went on to graduate from The Second City Chicago’s Music Improv Conservatory and the iO Theater Chicago, performing throughout Chicago and the greater Boston area.
In addition to teaching, she writes and performs original songs that can be commissioned for any occasion and are available to host community or corporate workshops in Improv Comedy. Past residencies include Woodrow Wilson Middle School, JFK Center’s 21st Century Program, Dafmark Creative Arts Center, Harding Elementary School, and Erie Art Museum’s Second Sunday Programming.
